Since Academy Design Partners started in 1994, our approach has remained simple: we work hard to give you, no matter the size of your business or budget, the best service we can; we work hard to understand your business and its objectives and we work hard to create the best and most appropriate solutions bespoke to your needs.
Over the years we have been lucky to work with some brilliant people.
Our highlights have included:
- As one of our very first clients, through to the present day, we have been delighted to work for various departments of the British Heart Foundation, including fundraising and education.
- Designing all the literature, and then managing its print and distribution for Clerical Medical's european investment division in Luxembourg.
- Being featured in DESIGN WEEK’s top 10 for efficiency in their Top 100 Consultancy Survey.
- Our continuing involvement in the evolution of the brand for children's furniture design and manufacturer, Tidy Books, from its origins as a one woman start-up seven years ago to the growing international success it is today.
Who are the two men in the logo?
A clue: With Academy Design Partners, you will meet and talk with one of the original partners, John or Paul, and we will be involved in and be fully responsible [and yes that’s accept responsibility] for, your project from day one to the day the job lands on your desk. It's that simple.
The answer: We are John (on the left) and Paul (on the right). We started working together on the Prudential Holborn account, long before Academy existed, and quickly became established as a double act, frequently and worryingly interchangeable even to our own mothers. When we set up Academy it seemed an obvious choice for the logo. The name Academy comes from the sadly missed Bath Academy of Art where we both studied. It is now called Bath Spa University, but that would be a rubbish name for a design company!
John Norman has extensive experience of working with various charities, both large and small, including 18 years with the British Heart Foundation. With a reputation as a creative thinker and problem solver, John also works with many of our health clients in conjunction with Minerva PR.
John is currently moonlighting as a late night taxi service for his teenage children.
Paul Lindt has over 20 years experience designing for the financial and corporate sector, including a 9 year relationship with Clerical Medical International in Europe and Hong Kong and he now manages Academy’s work with Simplyhealth.
Paul is a guerilla campaigner for the revival of his local cinema, but if you value your sanity don't ask him about it.
