Welcome to Academy Design Partners

Charities and health organisations

Charities frequently have to communicate difficult and sensitive messages in a bold enough way that allows them to be heard in a very competitive environment. Academy Design have extensive experience of a wide range of projects including educational materials for schools, reports for medical professionals and various fundraising materials including press ads. The following are some examples of our work...

The client
British Heart Foundation

The brief
For many years we have been proud to create fundraising and educational material for the BHF. Their colourful and lively brand beats throughout their literature. The London to Brighton, World Experiences, Jump Rope and Ultimate Dodgeball are just a few of the projects we have designed for this exceptional charity.

The client
British Heart Foundation Jump Rope For Heart

The brief
For the last 10 years Academy has designed all the educational manuals and fundraising materials for this important project aimed at schools and youth groups. It is intended to encourage teachers and kids to sign up for this colourful fundraising challenge, which provides the perfect vehicle for education and exercise for children to enjoy.

The client
Digestive Disorders Foundation

The brief
The DDF Annual Report highlights the numbers and ratios for those affected by conditions of the digestive system. These figures need to be sensitively represented using visual solutions that engaged the reader thereby avoiding overtly medical imagery. The final report brought unpresidented attention to the charity’s message.

The client
Slow Food Baby

The brief
Kid’s... how do you get them to eat a varied and healthy diet? Start them young say Slow Food Baby! We thoroughly enjoyed creating food animals for this fun solution to the serious message - and we could nibble our way through the photo shoot.

The client
ActionAid International

The brief
ActionAid International have a library of very high quality photographs taken of their projects covering an array of complex social issues around the world. These have been great to utilise when we have been asked to design various reports for them over the years. Most are intended for international policy makers and are sometimes required in other languages such as French and German.

The client
Research into Ageing

The brief
Academy was asked to produce a booklet to advise people on how to 'age well' and fully enjoy life past the age of 55 using the latest scientific research. It had to be light and approachable, and fun and engaging, so that people would engage with these very simple steps. We featured an unexpected choice of images which tried to avoid the usual cliches of time passing by.

The client
Help the Aged

The brief
To provide a newsletter and range of sponship forms for Help the Aged's long running campaign to provide care to the elderly in some of the poorest parts of the world.

The client
Research into Ageing

The brief
We were asked to design the Annual Review and Accounts for this charity, themed around the benefits of a healthy older life.

The client
Royal College of Surgeons

The brief
To design the prospectus and associated materials to promote courses at the world famous college.
